Good Friday for Bad Children...

My friend Bron organised a show last night. Mesa Cosa and Baptism of Uzi played a set each and we all had a good time.

I wore my "Miami Dress" (that's what the label says, anyway) and did a quick pincurl set. It was all upstaged though - by Lachlan's furry headwear, otherwise known as "The Dainty Hat."

Offshore Radio Theatre...

So, things here have been crazy busy. Sorry for the lack of posts! Last night I went along to the first Offshore Radio Theatre night, held at the amazing Kelvin Club in the city. We arrived to find oak panelled walls, taxidermy pheasants, fruit platters, gin and a spectacular variety of performers. The entire show was broadcast live on the website, so if you can't make it along, you can listen in!

Look what came in the mail yesterday!



It's a brass (?) pin, about an inch wide. I wonder who bought it for his girlfriend, and if he is still alive today?

Jim Jones Revue and The Red Dress...

Last night I went to see The Jim Jones Revue (who were amazing, by the way) and tried something a little different with my hair.

I wore a dress I had made a few weeks back (available in the shop) and a vintage marcasite brooch.

Picnics, Jedi Sheets and Rock n Roll...

Last night we went to see Clairy Browne & the Bangin' Rackettes play in Fitzroy gardens. A hasty picnic was concocted.

After that, we went to see Damn Terran at The Old Bar.

New Project - Wedding Dress!

I was asked to make a casual 50's style wedding dress for a client at the shop. It was a little daunting, but I'm getting through it. Here is my progress so far...

Dress Winner, Lace and The National...

In other news, I went to see The National play at the Palais Theatre on the weekend. It was awesome! I looked like this:



It was the first time I had worn this dress. It's pretty delicate, and made from Chantilly style lace and linen. The buttons are bakelite and rhinestone!



I also quite like the tag..."Grosscraft" - strange name!



It was pretty hot, so I wore my hair up off my face. The band was amazing and we got really good seats, a few rows from the stage.



The theatre was built in 1914 and is the largest in the country. Lots of beautiful art deco architecture...just look at the roof!
