60's Dress Sample for the Shop!
I've been watching the new season of Mad Men and enjoying Joan's figure hugging dresses. I don't have her amazing curves, but I wanted to make a dress in that style... I wore it to see Mariachi El Bronx at The Forum Theatre last night. If you haven't heard them, check them out!
Gratuitous butt photo - it's to show the fit and the pockets!
Trying a new style with my hair - cool or fool?
Ignore the hem - I hadn't finished sewing!
What do you think?
**EDIT - Some girls have asked about mail / custom orders - see the comments for details :) **

amazing fit and everything, I want one in every color! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a gorgeous dress! And I think your hair looks adorable, too - a perfect complement for the style of the dress.
ReplyDeleteI love this dress! It is absolutely stunning and the fit is GORGEOUS! And you hair is so chic! I love the whole look!!! Do you make these for mail order??? :D
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!! I love the collar. The only thing is.... I always find that style so hard to buy when it is ready-made, because I have a sway-back. Will you be doing custom stuff too?
ReplyDeleteAlso - hair is definately a winner!!
Looks wonderful! You did a great job and it fits so well on you :)
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous. I would be interested in buying one of these. Let us know what pricing etc is for this!
ReplyDeleteWow. This is divine! And I love your hair, too.

Hi everyone - Yes, I can do mail order and custom, but you have to measure yourself up and send me the measurements.
ReplyDeleteFeel free to email me: goldenagevintage@gmail.com with any other questions.
As for price, they are custom made to order, so each is priced according to fabric and trims used. Roughly $250 australian dollars for a hand made, custom tailored dress I think. (Brands like Stop Staring are around this price and are not tailored or made to order.)You also have a choice of fabric colours, so that's a plus!
Thanks again!
I love this dress. The only thing I worry about is that I have lumps and bumps in the wrong places and I would think this dress would make them more noticeable.
ReplyDeleteYour hair is gorgeous by the way :)
Hair: cool
ReplyDeleteDres: very VERY cool.
I love it, the trim round the collar is gorgeous, and the pockets are fab. Wish I was in Oz so I could some take a look!
The dress looks amazing. I adore the Peter Pan collar and detailed cuffs. Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWow, it looks stunning!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress! I just love the form fitting styles of the early 60's.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is truly stunning! And the hairstyle is great - you look beautiful as always.
ReplyDeletewow, that is an amazing dress, not just because you made it which is cool in and of itself, but it is so flattering and sexy but still really cute and pretty covered up. the neckline is my favorite, it's like a grown up peter-pan collar.
