Girls, I need your advice...

Dear Readers,
You may recall I was working on this pattern:



Well, I finished the skirt (I made it a bit shorter) and the blouse is nearly done. It just needs buttons.

Now, the question:

Is it any good?



I do like the collar, and the slightly puffed sleeves. The pockets, although a pain to sew, are also nice. But are the sleeves too long for me? Is the skirt too "puffy?" There can be good puffy and bad puffy - which one is this?
It also doesn't help that my waist, (despite measuring a modest 27 inches) is nowhere near as little as the ladies on the pattern. Look at their waists! They're just wider than their necks!

Oh, the questions! What do you think?

    I think it looks fantastic! good work!

    the only thing I would do next time. is shorten the distance from neck to the start of the sleeve. My old patterns are all like this too, the POOF of the sleeve is way out there... its an easy fix.. and you dont know it til you try it. hahaha.

    Good morning! I am so impressed! I don't think that the sleeves are too long. The shirt is adorable.
    I think the waists look so tiny in the pattern illustation because they are wearing them with corsets or because they are so stylized by the artist.
    The skirt and top are super cute. Well done!

    I think it looks amazing. And I too totally agree with Twila, all my old patterns have really long shoulders making the place to start the sleeve half way down your arm. I have a dress makers doll and usually adjust on that, but you could get a blouse that already fits you well and take measurements from that :)

    I also love the thickness of this waist band and think is incredibly flattering!!
