Shabby Apple Dress Giveaway!

Hi!
Gatsby and Me has hit 300 followers! Thanks everyone! And...the lovely ladies at Shabby Apple have been so kind as to help me out with a dress giveaway.

If you haven't heard of the brand before, here's a bit of info:

"After years of not being able to find stylish dresses that covered enough skin to make you really feel comfortable (without wearing a tank top, cardigan or long slip), owners Emily and CK decided to do something about it.

They visited trade shows, marketplaces and designer studios only to discover the problem was not that department stores weren't buying the right dresses, but that designers weren't designing them.

Shabby Apple is proud to offer you fantastic dresses that allow you to look fabulous, without having to compromise anything else.

A return to what dresses were always meant to be — a one-piece outfit. No need to add anything...no tank tops, no cardigans, nothing (except accessories, of course!).

Shabby Apple also focuses on helping women worldwide. Through our charitable work with women throughout Asia and Africa, we are able to convert dress sales into lifestyle changes for women and children."

Great, right?

You can win a beautiful "Bette. D" dress (pictured above) just by leaving a comment on this post about your dream outing - wearing this dress of course! Click here for more info about the dress.

Entries close on the 12th of January, 2011 and anyone from anywhere in the world can enter.
Good luck!

  2. This dress would come to work with me for the day. We'd go to lunch with my favourite boy and sit in the park in the sunshine. Then after work we'd head out for some cocktails at one of the lovely bars on the river. We might even make it into the Valley for dinner afterwards.

  3. Oh wow, what a great giveaway - thanks! My ultimate dream outing would be to Tokyo, but while I can't afford that, dim sum, cocktails and a Hitchcock movie on the big screen would be my idea of heaven.

  4. This dress is so chic that it could take me anywhere in the world. From breakfast at tiffanys to checking out paris' boutiques, a high tea with the ladies who lunch at the savoy, london and then whisk me off to the magic of the opera at sydney opera house, dinner at el bulli, spain,a magical gondala ride in venice, then cocktails (with diamonds in) with a view at the ritz tokyo! Then home to bed - but perhaps I had been in my bed the whole time dreaming of this fabulous day in a fabulous frock!

  6. Wow beautiful dress! I think I would wear it to Barcelona in the summertime on my trip around all the beautiful museums and then off to Vienna afterwards to Belvedere Palace, looking at all my favourite artists and pretending I lived there. ( This is what hopefully will happen to me in the summer!) x

  14. I love tania's suggestion of wearing the dress as an extra on Mad Men - definitely tops on my list.

I'd wear it to my next movie premiere. I'm an actress, costumer and set dresser on an independent 50s style B-movie here in Minnesota, and we do a 50s style movie premiere once the movie's done. Last year, I made my dress, and I'd love a new one for next year!

It was such a picturesque place with really friendly people. I will be graduating with a double Masters degree this December and I would love to celebrate by getting back to Marblehead the following summer, which is the perfect place to wear this dress.

  30. This dress would be perfect for a night out in San Francisco. First, we would stop for coffee at 4 Barrel Roasters on Valencia, then ride the cable cars to chinatown for dinner on a narrow fire-escape-turned-outdoor-balcony dining experience. We would end the night at one of the greatest speak-easy bars ledt in existence: the fabulous Bourbon & Branch. The dress would help me fit right in to their 1920s decor in the library or russel's room (which used to be the entrance to the authentic speak easy that used to be right below the current bar and disguised itself as a cigar shop). I would definitely be treated to the tour of all the rooms if I showed up in such a fine frock.

  35. Tres chic! And a full range of sizes!

The "Bette D" dress accompanies you to work on a Friday with a performance review scheduled in the morning, you are bursting with confidence from looking so chic and yet appropriately dressed, so you negotiate that pay raise higher than expected and secretly thank "Bette D."

Later, your best girlfriend calls and invites you to lunch at your favorite sushi restaurant, where the chef at the sushi bar treats you both with an extra treat because you are such charming ladies.

After work, you rush home to pick up the dessert you baked from scratch the night before, on your way to a dinner party. At the dinner party you find yourself seated across from a handsome and oh-so-charming fellow whom you'd never heretofore seen and he falls instantly in love with this confident and beautiful woman in the black dress. He invites you to do a nauseatingly romantic walk through the garden in the moonlight and then you exchange numbers with your smart phones before you leave.

When you finally make it home, you lovingly hang your "Bette D" dress in its place, silently thanking the dress for your good fortune, but really, it was all you, the dress just made you feel feel confident enough to achieve it.

  50. Wow, I love all the great suggestions everyone has made - Paris and Mad Men seem to be a very common dream outing! In comparison, my dream outing is a little tamer - I would wear it to a night out at Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant here in Melbourne. I have been wanting to go to this restaurant in ages, and as I cook every night for my hubby (I am a huge believer in home-cooked meals - very 1950's!), it would be great to have a night off! PS the dresses on Shabby Apple are fantastic and very reasonable! Vintage Suburbia x
