You may have noticed that I never wear pants. EVER. That is, until I found (and won) three pairs of deadstock 40's slacks on ebay.
They're wool garbadine, which makes them a bit itchy, but you can't have it all! They fit me better than any other modern styles I've tried - but I'm still wary. I'm not used to seeing myself in trousers. What do you think? Should these pants go public?
I also picked up these sweet blouses for a song - more photos later!
Go public! They look terrific. You've styled them really well.
ReplyDeleteYes, go public! They look really good on you! Wear them!
ReplyDeleteThey look great on you, the public needs to see them :)
ReplyDeleteI'd really love to see what they look like rolled down, but I think you could really work them. They all have those warm, rich, earthy tones that mark them as true 40s style, and they fit you fabulously.
ReplyDeleteThey have a similar pant at Modcloth for $60 a piece and BurdaStyle just had a featured sewer who made a similar pant that got so many positive comments about them. They're getting really popular again, you should totally wear them. You rock them, lol!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about these pants. The fit and the color look so fantastic on you, and I love the little blouse your paired them with. Definately wear them out and enjoy!

ReplyDeleteOk... I shall test drive the pants asap.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your lovely comments! :) You make a girl blush!
You look gorgeous in those pics! The pants are really well tailored and you've styled them beautifully, you have that 'effortlessly elegant' look going on that is really hard to find these days. Gotta show these off to the world!
ReplyDeleteI agree, pants look spankin.x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely wear them! You look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThey look fab. Definitely wear them. =D

ReplyDeleteI love your blog and want to give you a little gift over at my blog
loveliness! I can understand your difficulties with pants, I too never seem to find pants I like or that fit me well....
ReplyDeleteOhmigosh you look absolutely amazing in this outfit - I love it!! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, you are amazing. I have only just discovered your blog - where have I been for goodness sake?! I think Countess de Vintage put it up on her blog. Anyway, you are a style goddess. I too live in Melb but in the suburban desert of Glen Wav (I used to live in St Kilda - Vale St - loved it!). I am also a HUGE coffee lover - not so sure about Brother Budan though. I had some great coffee on Chapel st the other day, see my post at vintagesuburbia.blogspot.com if you are interested. Can't wait to read your blog this year! Maria, Vintage Suburbia x
